Learning and exploring foreign languages and cultures has always fascinated me, so being able to use my language skills professionally and help clients reaching their goals on the Swedish market is an incrediibly rewarding experience.
I started my translation company in 2016 after completing a bachelor's degree in Japanese studies at Stockholm University. Prior to that, I studied abroad for 5 years in Japan, where I finished a college education in translation and interpretation in Tokyo.
My curiosity about foreign cultures and education in linguistics give me the foundation, motivation and skillset that I need to stay on top of the game in my profession. I always make sure to produce texts with a natural flow, correct terminology and a suitable tone of voice based on the given target audience. At the same time, I focus on carrying across the source content and its unique style into the Swedish translation, without losing any nuances in the process. While AI-technology and machine translation have improved over the years and work as a practical tool, human translators are crucial when it comes to writing engaging content that truly resonates with the readers. For that you need in-depth knowledge of the culture and behaviour of the intended audience. I am happy to help you with that task!
My specialisations are tourism & travel, EU affairs and marketing localization. In 2018 I completed an internship as a translator trainee at the EU Commission's Directorate-General for Translation in Luxembourg, which deepened my knowledge about international diplomacy, law-related texts and how the European Union works in general. I also have experience working as a tourist host at the city hall of Stockholm and Nyköping for several years.
